What was the best class in the curriculum of Linguage Japanese Language School?

I really enjoyed the special classes and activities we had, such as group projects and "teacher for a day" exercises. These activities gave us the opportunity to apply the knowledge we learned in Nihongo, work together with our classmates, present topics that we were passionate about, and prepare ourselves for the expectations of the workplace, such as properly consulting with peers and superiors while preparing reports and delivering presentations to our team and managers. I also appreciated the extracurricular activities, or field trips as we call them. Despite the ongoing pandemic, our teachers made sure to organize enjoyable activities and outings for us. It was a great way to unwind, meet other students from our school, and interact with our teachers.

What is your recommendation for Linguage Japanese Language School?

I would highly recommend Linguage to anyone looking for a hands-on and modern way of learning Japanese and its culture. Our teachers are very supportive and always go the extra mile to help us and improve our class experience. The fact that they even held online zoom classes during the pandemic to keep students motivated and engaged is a testament to their dedication. Linguage is well-equipped with iPads and online resources to make learning more convenient and modern. There are regular catch-ups about our school experience, job searching, and life, in general. Our teachers also value student feedback and continuously seek ways to improve the curriculum-- may it be the textbook we use or activities we can do.

Message to those with a dream of "I want to work in Japan"

Japan is truly a wonderful country with a unique culture and work environment, so it's natural that a lot of people, myself included, dream of working here. The journey to achieving this goal, though, is not always easy. You may face challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences, tough competition for job opportunities, and, of course, homesickness. But don't let these stop you. Try to learn as much about Japan and its culture as you can. This will show your commitment and interest in the country. It is most important to carry a lot of courage, patience, and humility with you. Other than the actual requirements (i.e. visa, basic writing, etc.), you would need courage and patience for obvious reasons, as you will face a new world with a unique environment (probably) alone. But most importantly, I would advise/remind you to have humility. By all means, be competitive and showcase yourself to do great in school and to get that job - but please do so with humility. Know that you don't know everything; realize that at the end of the day, we are still all guests in this traditional and culturally-rich country, and it is never our job to change those ways. Do your very best to adjust to the culture - may it be in school or in the workplace. Have a good foundation of Japanese from school; make good connections; keep on applying to your desired industry/companies; and know that you can ask for help - you're not really alone!
